·      What question about the reading for today did I prepare before class?

o   What kind of conversation is he having?

·      What key ideas did I hear in seminar today?

o   We inherited the sins

o   Our passions and thought are misaligned

o   We have lost integrity

o   No age is innocent but it’s not as dark as you think it is

o   Talks about learning things you love makes them last longer and be more interesting

o   He would be a big lover of critical thinking

o   He does not see a problem with faith and reason

o   There’s no contraction between faith and reason

o   Reason and faith come from god

o   If you expect more from something than it can give you will live in misery

o   we confuse creation for the creator

o   Is God immaterial

o   He is very emotional, and pleasure orientated, he takes in lovers

o   He has a conversion experience in a garden

o   This was the first psychology and religion textbook in the medieval ages

o   He believes that infants can sin

§  Do children have bad will

§  Infants have no understanding of sinning so we cannot hold them to the sins that they create

·      What substantive ideas or comments did I contribute in seminar today?

o   After the fall our wills are broken so we cannot self-regulate

o   if you are constantly looking at others faults you have not looked at your own for too long

o   we want to see other thoughts but not our own

o   we favor ourselves

·      What did I learn today that contributed to my understanding of psychology?

o   we are very hypocritical pg. 18
