o   Do we think that machines (robots) will take over humans?

o   Pascaline

§  Binary arithmetic – representation of all numbers by ones and zeros

§  The difference engine would be revised into
the analytical engine after a lack of
monetary support to begin the project

§  Babbage’s image of a machine capable of
performing any type of calculation, not only capable
of being given basic data sets

o   Turing began to question if machines could think in the
same way humans could

o   The Logic Theorist (LT) provided formal proofs for theorems within symbolic logic, implemented backwards reasoning into constructing said proofs
